Grand Rapids: Kregel, 2005, 310 pp., tradepaper.
Dead Man's Rule introduces us to Ben Corbin, a young Christian lawyer trying to get a private practice established. When an elderly Russian scientist retains him in a seemingly simple case over the ownership of a safe-deposit box, his world is turned upside down. Corbin and his accountant wife Noelle are plunged into a world of international intrigue with the lives of millions threatened by bioterror.
Author Rick Acker's day job as California's Deputy Attorney General qualifies him to dig deeply into the intricacies of the law. Fans of John Grisham will enjoy this excellent legal thriller.
